THE KOENIGSEGG STORY — captured in 1.9 million chisel cuts

This artwork, titled 30 Years of Koenigsegg, was created to celebrate one of the most remarkable stories in automotive history. Every part of the piece honours three decades of innovation, determination, and imagination from Koenigsegg.

The carving process itself took 1,180 hours. With planning, sketching, material selection, and every stage of crafting and finishing included, the full process came close to 1,600 hours.

COMPOSITION OF THE FINEST MATERIALS

It’s carved by hand from black walnut, chosen for its durability, depth, and timeless feel. At its centre is a blue carbon fiber Koenigsegg shield, handmade in the UK and finished with real 24-karat gold — carefully applied by the artist himself. The gold and blue carbon fiber combination, often featured on Koenigseggs, was the primary inspiration behind this design.

The shield is secured to the carving with a magnet at the bottom—removing it reveals an engraved ghost logo on the magnet itself. At the top, it simply slides onto a platform, making the shield easy to attach and remove while ensuring it stays safely in place. Behind the shield we can see the semi-transparent ghost logo, whose soft tones and translucency perfectly capture a ghostly presence. Its ethereal quality, combined with a mirror-like surface polished to the highest gloss, creates a refined and otherworldly effect.

Little details — like the initials of Jesko von Koenigsegg and Halldora von Koenigsegg, and the rear plaque inspired by the VIN plates — were all placed with purpose and reverence, to reflect the finest details of the Koenigsegg story and capture the spirit of the Ghost Squadron.
